On 10 and 11 April 2024, we participated in the official kick-off event of the Green Living Areas Thematic Community in Turin, Italy, organized under the Interreg Euro-MED Programme. Hosted by Mission partner Environment Park, the event brought together representatives from 19 thematic projects dedicated to developing greener, more resilient living environments across the Mediterranean.
The event was organised by Community4LivingAreas in collaboration with Dialogue4LivingAreas, and marked the first in-person meeting of the Green Living Areas Mission. It provided a unique opportunity for projects to connect, exchange knowledge, and explore synergies for more effective and collaborative implementation.
The first day focused on internal collaboration: project introductions, networking, and a co-creation workshop on the Ecosystemic Transition Unit (ETU) Model, where projects were grouped into thematic working groups addressing green mobility, energy, planning, financing, and citizen engagement.
The second day was open to the public and policymakers, featuring expert panels, the launch of the Institutional Dialogue Process, and discussions on tools and strategies for promoting greener territories and involving citizens in the green transition.

We proudly presented the BauNOW project, highlighting our goals, activities, and contributions to a just and green spatial transformation across the Mediterranean.
Through dialogue, collaboration, and shared ambition, the gathering laid a strong foundation for the Green Living Areas Community. The next in-person meeting is scheduled for spring 2025 in Barcelona, where the Mission will continue building momentum for a green and just transition in the Mediterranean.
