From 20 to 22 May 2026, the final event of the BauNOW – New Business as Usual project will take place in Rome under the title Investing in Green and Just Transition. The event will bring together project partners and invited stakeholders to review the project’s achievements, exchange experiences and discuss future opportunities for supporting the Green and Just Transition across the Mediterranean area.
BauNOW focuses on strengthening the capacities of public and private stakeholders to integrate the Green and Just Transition into development policies, spatial planning approaches and investment practices. The project promotes cooperation between local and regional authorities, financial institutions, private actors and experts, with the aim of supporting climate resilience, sustainable development and more inclusive territorial governance.
The final event will include presentations of the project’s main results, partner contributions from participating countries and discussions on recommendations for encouraging public and private investment in the Green and Just Transition. Part of the programme will also take place at the Laudato Si’ Borgo and Higher Educational Center in Castel Gandolfo, where participants will exchange views on sustainable development, renewable energy and social responsibility.
The event will conclude with the International MED GJT Investment Forum, focusing on the priorities of local and regional authorities, the banking sector and the private sector in directing investments towards a greener and more just future. As the closing event of the project, it will provide an important opportunity to connect project outcomes with future policy directions, investment models and concrete actions for more sustainable development in the Mediterranean area.
