On 22–23 April 2026, the 3rd Gathering of the Green Living Areas Thematic Community took place in Athens, Greece. The event brought together more than 250 partners from across the Euro-Mediterranean region, representing strategic and thematic projects working towards greener, more resilient and inclusive living environments.
The gathering marked an important milestone for the GLA Mission, as it moves from a phase of collaboration and experimentation towards consolidation, with a stronger focus on transferring project results into policy frameworks and ensuring their long-term impact. Over the course of two days, participants took part in project presentations, thematic working groups, capacity-building sessions and policy-oriented discussions aimed at strengthening cooperation and supporting the uptake of innovative solutions across Mediterranean territories.
The programme included short pitching sessions of project outputs, thematic group discussions on the transferability of solutions, and targeted trainings addressing topics such as the New European Bauhaus, lobbying strategies, and investment and funding pitches. The second day focused on bridging the gap between project innovation and policy, including discussions on the future of Green Living Areas within European cohesion policy and on strengthening policy dialogue and implementation mechanisms.
As part of the programme, we have presented the Green and Just Transition Dashboard, developed as one of the main project results. The dashboard is a web-based platform for managing and monitoring green and just transition project portfolios. By integrating project data, analytics and key performance indicators into a single interface, it enables users to follow progress, compare projects and assess impacts more clearly, while supporting better decision-making, improved transparency and the effective planning and implementation of sustainable development measures.
By presenting the dashboard within the GLA community, BauNOW contributed to the wider exchange of practical tools and methodologies supporting municipalities, regional agencies and project offices in the planning and implementation of more sustainable, inclusive and climate-resilient development approaches. The event also provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge, strengthen collaboration with other projects and stakeholders, and position the GJT Dashboard as a practical tool for supporting the green and just transition across Mediterranean territories.
