On April 14th, Nadia Trainar from Geres was invited by International Emissions Trading Association (organizers of the ECS event) to participate in the workshop “Voluntary Carbon Market dialogue: addressing the key barriers to scale demand for voluntary use of carbon credits”. Alongside other European experts in the roundtable, Nadia was able to introduce the results of the “Study on Demand” realized within the French pilot initiative of BauNOW – including a focus on local intermediation opportunities.
The discussion on how to scale corporate for voluntary carbon credits also explored topics such as corporate claims, reputational risk, credits legal nature & quality. Discussions lead to a better common understanding of barriers & priorities to move forward this market, an important lever of the clean and just transition.
